As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you balance a pragmatic, forward-thinking approach with a strong focus on quality to build enduring company-wide data capabilities. You excel at translating functional requirements into robust technical implementations, ensuring quality through well-structured data models, comprehensive data quality procedures, and well-documented, reusable business logic. Your implementations align closely with architectural guidelines, and you consistently strive to enhance solutions while remaining mindful of time and cost constraints.
You will help us transition legacy systems to NIBC's centralized cloud data platform. This platform enables the business to create their own data products. You will be there to help them, with excellent communication skills. With every use case you deliver, you ensure value is delivered to and with the business counterpart.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to define user requirements and translate them into technical specifications;
- Implementation: Implement solutions directly within the cloud platform, ensuring they meet business needs and technical standards;
- Data Quality Assurance: Ensure high data quality by building robust solutions, conducting thorough testing, and maintaining documentation;
- Collaboration: Work closely with the business domain, IT experts, and your own colleagues of the Data & Analytics department;
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data models, transformations, and business logic;
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data modelling, DBT and analytics.
Your team
We established the Data & Analytics (D&A) team two years ago to empower our business with high-quality data products built on a modern cloud data platform. This technology-driven department is dedicated to ensuring data is sourced, ingested, integrated, and consumed through well-designed, automated, and user-friendly services and frameworks.
The D&A department operates under a hub-and-spoke model. The hub consists of data and platform engineers, while the spokes are functionally organized and home to the analytics engineers. Based on demand and your expertise, you may have the opportunity to work for the finance, risk, corporate or retail business.

What do you bring?
- Experience: 8+ years as an Analytics Engineer or business analyst with a focus on data integration;
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized university;
- Proficiency in DBT: Ability to implement complex logic and workflows using DBT;
- Preferably: Cloud & Data Platforms knowledge or skills: Strong familiarity with cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud), Power BI, data lakes, and modern data architectures;
- Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, able to bridge the gap between technical and business teams;
- Experience with banking-specific regulations is an advantage;
- Experience with financial sector is preferred.
