Overview

Ciena’s Supply Chain Data Services team drives insights and enables informed business decisions through analytics and innovation.

As a Supply Chain Data Services Analyst, you will develop and enhance operational, predictive, and visionary analytics tools that empower the Supply Chain organization to make smarter, data-driven decisions.

How You Will Contribute

Reporting to the Manager, Supply Chain Data Services Enablement, you will:

  • Support and continuously improve existing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.

  • Analyze business requirements and design optimized data and BI solutions.

  • Develop new analytics tools to provide timely, actionable insights at the point of use.

  • Migrate and modernize legacy BI tools to next-generation BI environments.

  • Integrate AI-driven analytics capabilities into existing solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — Product Line Management, Supply Management, Order Management, IT, and CRM — to ensure alignment and consistency of insights.

  • Serve as a trusted expert on BI tools and data interpretation, supporting informed decisions across the Supply Chain.

The Must Haves

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Honours preferred) in an IT-related field.

  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in Business Intelligence or Data Analytics, ideally within a supply chain or operational context.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Alteryx – Data model design, workflow automation, analytics (certification an advantage).

    • Power BI – Visualization design, DAX, data modeling, and use of Power BI CoPilot (certification an advantage).

    • SQL – Proficiency in ANSI SQL programming.

    • Familiarity with Oracle EBS, Salesforce, or similar ERP systems.

    • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to translate complex data into meaningful summaries and actionable insights.

  • Collaboration: Strong relationship-building and teamwork skills across functions and regions.

  • Communication: Clear, concise, and confident communicator.

  • Organization & Initiative: Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities independently.

Assets

  • Experience with Google Looker or other BI/reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data interpretation techniques.

  • Business data understanding in one or more Operations domains — Order Management, Supply Management, Product Line Management, Inventory Management, or Services.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook.

  • Demonstrated performance in:

    • Analytical thinking

    • Change management and adaptability

    • Customer focus and initiative

    • Decision-making and influencing

    • Organizing and prioritizing work effectively
