Primary Purpose
Validate, track, and maintain all relevant competitive locations and activity in the company's proprietary database within Ahold Delhaize USA's existing and potential market areas.
Develop senior leader communications in a rapid and concise manner to summarize key competitive events and implications for ADUSA brands.
Provide brand partners with actionable intelligence about the competitive environment with a focus on opportunities and threats that could impact ADUSA's brand portfolio.
Owns and drives an aligned understanding of current and potential future state with respect to competitive landscape for areas ADUSA is active in. Proactively identify key trigger events in the competitive landscape.
Assist with GIS (Geographic Information System) requests. Perform ad hoc requests and special analyses in support of the various initiatives of the Location Research Department.
Our flexible/ hybrid work schedule includes 3 in-person days at one of our core locations and 2 remote days. Our core office locations include Carlisle, PA.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Capture, track and manage historical and future competitive activity across ADUSA's entire geography and beyond.
  • Communicate with town officials, retail operators, Location Research, real estate, marketing, merchandising, and others to investigate and verify competitor information to make the most up-to-date development decisions.
  • Provide accurate and timely competitive change assumptions to Business Strategy to serve as a key variable in the sales forecasting, budgeting, and three-year planning processes.
  • Support GIS lead in conjunction with finance, supply chain and other functions to build comprehensive network analysis for the U.S. and maintain this as a dynamic model to inform leadership decisions.
  • Interface with FP&A and Brand resources to assist in budgeting/forecast sales impacts due to competitive activity.
  • Manage competitive database, from a systems perspective, including upgrades, etc.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Create and maintain metrics and KPIs for daily use.
  • Occasional travel.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Geography, Economics, or related fields
  • Minimum 2 years business experience, with emphasis on grocery industry. Ecommerce experience is a plus
  • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong math, analytical and conceptual skills with a resolve for accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, multi-tasking abilities, with proven experience in utilizing data and process knowledge to support the various initiatives of the Location Research department
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and manage small to medium scale projects


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or other BI analytics tools
  • Working knowledge of ESRI, MapInfo, Kalibrate or other GIS Mapping Software.
  • Understanding of Relational Databases and SQL Query language
  • Understanding of Market Dynamics: Supermarket Strategies, Demographics and Economic Factors
  • Knowledge of statistics or other quantitative techniques or disciplines
  • Understanding of Finance and Economic Principles
  • Experience/knowledge of retail commercial real estate functions and terminology
  • Experience in giving data-centric presentations to leadership
