Department OverviewJoin our growing Perception AI team within Motorola Solutions' AI R&D group, as we expand from six to eight members. We are dedicated to public safety by advancing the research and development of cutting-edge perception models specifically for video security. You will contribute to building impactful AI solutions deployable both on-camera and in the cloud, directly enhancing safety and situational awareness in real-world environments.
Job Description
This role is primarily hybrid with weekly travel into our London offices around one day a week.
As a AI Research Scientist, you will focus on developing and deploying AI/ML models to a variety of edge devices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient integration and optimization of models, ensuring they run seamlessly on low-power, resource-constrained devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and deploy deep learning models for edge devices.
- Develop and implement model compression, quantization, and pruning techniques to improve performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of machine learning deployment processes and tools within the organization device hardware.
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree in a technical field.
- Understanding of model optimization techniques (quantization, pruning, knowledge distillation).
- Experience in Python programming.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Desirable:
- PhD in a technical field.
- Experience with deploying to edge AI platforms.
- Professional experience in machine learning engineering, with a focus on deploying models to edge devices.
- Strong professional engineering skills.
