You'll play an important role in ensuring suppliers are paid accurately and on time, while helping us maintain strong financial processes across the business.

If you enjoy working with numbers, have a keen eye for detail, and take pride in delivering excellent service, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Witney office, Monday to Friday.

What You'll Be Doing

As part of our Finance team, you'll be responsible for:

  • Processing a high volume of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Checking approvals and supporting documentation in line with company policies.
  • Managing invoice workflows and following up on outstanding approvals where needed.
  • Building positive relationships with suppliers and colleagues by responding to queries professionally and promptly.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Supporting payment runs, reconciliations, and month-end activities.
  • Escalating any issues or exceptions to the Accounts Payable Manager when appropriate.
  • Helping to maintain strong financial controls and compliance within the accounts payable function.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Experience using finance systems or ERP platforms (such as Kanbina or Unit4) would be beneficial.
  • Good Excel and general data-handling skills.
  • A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and desire to develop within a finance team.

What do we offer in return?

A career that you define. At Howden, we value diversity – there is no one Howden type. Instead, we’re looking for individuals who share the same values as us:

  • Our successes have all come from someone brave enough to try something new

  • We support each other in the small everyday moments and the bigger challenges

  • We are determined to make a positive difference at work and beyond

Reasonable adjustments

We're committed to providing reasonable accommodations at Howden to ensure that our positions align well with your needs.  Besides the usual adjustments such as software, IT, and office setups, we can also accommodate other changes such as flexible hours* or hybrid working*.

If you're excited by this role but have some doubts about whether it’s the right fit for you, send us your application – if your profile fits the role’s criteria, we will be in touch to assist in helping to get you set up with any reasonable adjustments you may require.

*Not all positions can accommodate changes to working hours or locations. Reach out to your Recruitment Partner if you want to know more.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
