About this opportunity:
We are hiring a 5G Software Designer to join our Baseband Infrastructure team that underpins Ericsson's global telecommunications products. Our platform provides the OS and a robust Software Development Kit (SDK) on which radio applications are built, powering 5G, LTE, WCDMA, and GSM solutions worldwide. This role focuses on the communication stack at the OS level and collaborates closely with hardware engineering, including early verification of upcoming hardware via simulation and emulation. We work in small, empowered Scrum teams as part of a larger global program. You will participate in sprint planning, daily scrums, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives, and contribute to continuous improvement of our ways of working.
What you will do:
• Design, implement, and optimize components in the communication stack.• Develop and maintain the platform SDK used by application teams; provide clear APIs, documentation, and sample code.• Collaborate with hardware teams to enable early silicon/board bring-up, using simulation/emulation to validate functionality and performance.• Own end-to-end quality: unit/integration tests, CI pipelines, code reviews, static/dynamic analysis, and performance regression tracking.• Profile and debug low-level issues (latency, throughput, memory, concurrency) using open-sourced based tools• Partner with global teams to ensure platform readiness and smooth integration across all applications.
The skills you bring:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.• Strong proficiency in C for performance-critical, multi-threaded systems; solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.• Hands-on experience with the Linux operating system.• Working knowledge of modern CI/CD, build systems, and SCM tools (Bazel, Jenkins, Git/Gerrit).• Comfort operating in Scrum/Agile teams; excellent collaboration and communication skills in a distributed environment.
