Graduate Data Scientist
Ringaskiddy API site in Cork plays a critically strategic role within Pfizer, it is the global site for new small molecule API products through scale up and launch, as well as manufacture of large volume patented and off-patent medicines. We are leading the way in adopting new data, modelling and automated solutions to further digitize and accelerate drug discovery and development with the aim of enhancing health outcomes and the patient experience.
An opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Data Scientist within the Engineering & Automation teams in Ringaskiddy. This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the delivery of the sites Digital Transformation. Reporting to the Senior Data Scientist, the primary function of the Graduate Data Scientist will be to implement and deliver on, the Data Science and Manufacturing Intelligence site Strategy, lead and contribute to Data Science and Data Analytics projects, identify Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities across all site departments and support the implementation of same.

have gone on to have very successful careers in Pfizer both at local site and global
levels. During the 2-year programme, participants will take part in a structured rotation
in various departments (Business Excellence, Supply Chain and Finance) across the
Ringaskiddy site. The site has a strong coaching culture, and a structured mentoring
programme is provided. Full training will be provided by a comprehensive induction
programme. During the two-year programme, participants will be involved in the
following:
  • One-year induction programme
  • Structured mentoring & coaching - objective setting during each assignment.
  • Attend management training programmes.
  • CPD 6 module professional training programme.
  • Attend and present at Senior Executive meetings e.g., communications meetings, cross site teams, leadership team meetings.
  • Support cost improvement projects for key API manufacture processes.
  • Lead and support various data science business improvement projects

What You Will Achieve
You will d evelop and implement site business intelligence through data modelling, data analysis, data engineering and data science . You will support statistical activities across the site associated with investigations and continuous improvement using data. Provide expertise in the application of analytic techniques to increasingly complex and diverse data sets.
As a Graduate Data Scientist, you will be instrumental to the future of Data Science and Manufacturing Intelligence across all areas of the site, and you will develop the future capability to further accelerate our digital maturity.
How You Will Achieve It
  • Build on the current Data Analytical site strategy on the Ringaskiddy Digital Roadmap
  • Design and implementation of advanced analytical models that support business process improvements
  • Provide high quality data science support in the identification and implementation of Continuous Improvement opportunities in improving site performance.
  • Collaborate with Process Centric Teams and key site stakeholders to understand the technical business applications and apply modelling techniques to improve effectiveness, efficiencies and decision-making quality.
  • Build onsite data analytics capability of users on tools through training and supporting the delivery of Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Develop and sustain the Pfizer data aggregation platform (Tibco Statistica Informa) for process control and data analysis
  • Provide SME support to local Data viewer/consumers
  • Provide data science support when required during investigations, new process introduction or change implementation.
  • Delivery of routine statistical support to assure continued compliance within the general expectations of cGMPs for products manufactured (Continued Process Verification, & APQR)
  • Stay abreast of industry 4.0 trends and developments in AI/ML

Qualifications / Must Haves
  • Be completing or just completed an honours Degree or MSc. in Mathematical

Science / Data Science/ Data Analytics/Business Information Systems (BIS)
  • Strong experience in the use of statistical tools, analytical methodologies and programming languages (Visual Basic Object oriented programming, SQL, R, Python, Visual Basic etc.).
  • Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make timely decisions
