Three-day voluntary placement giving secondary school and college students hands-on exposure to a digital newsroom: attend editorial briefings, shadow journalists, learn story research, writing and publishing, explore audience analytics and social platforms, and receive CV/interview coaching.

Manage a portfolio of complex employee relations cases end-to-end, advise on restructures and redundancies, represent the business in grievances, disciplinaries and collective consultations, prepare for tribunals, update policies to reflect UK & Ireland employment law, deliver training, and support strategic HR projects.

Process and deliver accurate payroll for ~3,000 employees: resolve discrepancies, perform complex manual calculations (company cars, deductions, back pay, statutory leave), manage pensions/auto-enrolment and benefits payroll data, handle statutory forms and overpayments, liaise with third-party provider (Zellis) and internal teams, and respond to employee queries.

Provide specialist employee relations advice handling complex casework (dismissals, appeals, grievances, disciplinaries), lead restructures and redundancy processes, manage collective and trade union consultations, prepare for tribunals, update policies to reflect UK & Ireland employment law, deliver best-practice training, and collaborate on strategic HR projects to improve service delivery.
