Lead Alpaca’s global Trading API customer experience organization, including General and VIP Support. Build a follow-the-sun coverage model, establish service standards and KPIs, improve support through data, AI, automation, and self-service, and develop high-performing teams. Partner with Product, Engineering, Trading, Operations, Compliance, and Sales to resolve recurring issues, improve customer workflows, and support institutional trading customers.

Drive the Trading API and Alpaca Connect Marketplace roadmap, including partner onboarding, app discovery, OAuth experiences, and platform utilities. Define product strategy and requirements, analyze customer behavior and ROI, own product metrics, optimize acquisition and retention funnels, and lead go-to-market initiatives that increase adoption, trading volume, and revenue. Collaborate with engineering, design, data, marketing, sales, partnerships, and operations.

Design, build, and maintain scalable brokerage systems, including Go or similar backend services, gRPC microservices, React administrative interfaces, and vendor integrations. Lead regional engineering reliability, incident response, recruitment initiatives, mentoring, and cross-functional projects. Collaborate globally to support multiple markets, currencies, languages, regulatory requirements, and 24x7 platform stability. Troubleshoot production incidents and bugs while developing high-availability financial applications.

Command high-severity production incidents from declaration through mitigation, coordinating technical responders, severity decisions, escalations, stakeholder communications, regional handoffs, and post-incident follow-up. Maintain accurate incident timelines, ensure retrospectives and accountable action items, and improve response processes through automation. The role requires participation in a global 24x7 incident commander roster and familiarity with fintech and regulated API-driven platforms.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting Alpaca’s financial ledger and brokerage infrastructure. Own high-visibility features from design through deployment, collaborate with finance, operations, product, and engineering stakeholders, and improve system health. Build performant, reliable, maintainable services using modern distributed systems technologies while ensuring the ledger remains a correct source of truth for account transactions, reporting, and compliance.

Lead insider risk and data loss investigations from triage to closure, operate and tune DLP across environments, build detections and workflows, partner with HR/Legal/Compliance/IT, mature insider risk program, support audits, and mentor others.

Operate and improve brokerage platform reliability: on-call incident response, define SLIs/SLOs, enhance observability, deploy infrastructure via GitOps, and own PostgreSQL performance, migrations, HA/DR, and mentoring.
