As a team, we provide tools that help our customers manage their processes in a fast and efficient way and provide real-time visibility and reporting on what is happening in their business.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape a newly established function at Foods Connected. As Resource Planning Manager, you will be instrumental in building and embedding scalable resource planning practices across our growing Professional Services team. You’ll be responsible for creating visibility of team capacity, managing resources across implementation as well as engineering, and ensuring the right people are aligned to the right projects at the right time.

Foods Connected is a global SaaS platform transforming how food businesses manage supply chains, quality, and compliance. As we continue to scale, we are establishing a new Resource Planning function to support our growing Professional Services team.

This role sits at the heart of our delivery ecosystem, working closely with Implementation, Engineering, and Client Delivery teams to forecast demand, optimise utilisation, and support strategic workforce decisions. You’ll act as a connector between operational planning and project execution, helping to ensure our teams are empowered to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients.
As this is a new function, you’ll have the opportunity to shape processes, introduce tooling, and influence how resource planning supports our broader business goals. Collaboration, curiosity, and a proactive mindset will be key to success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Resource Planning & Forecasting – 70%

  • Own and manage the resource planning process across professional services as well as collaboration from Engineering where necessary.
  • Maintain visibility of team availability, capacity, and utilisation rates.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Implementation Leads, and Engineering to forecast resource needs for upcoming projects.
  • Collaborate with Sales to incorporate sales pipeline data into resource forecasting models, enabling proactive staffing decisions based on projected demand.
  • Develop and maintain a centralised resource planning tool or dashboard.
  • Provide regular reporting on resource utilisation, capacity planning, and future needs.

Process Development & Continuous Improvement – 30%

  • Shape and implement scalable processes and tooling to support resource planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement through feedback loops and performance analysis.
  • Contribute to the evolution of delivery operations and enablement strategies.
  • Develop an internal Skills matrix portfolio to allow for skills gap analysis and proactivity to address future resource needs.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, the Resource Planning and Capacity Manager should have experience with and knowledge of:

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in resource planning, workforce management, or operations within a Consultancy, SaaS or professional services environment.
  • Proven experience with resource planning tools (e.g., Jira, Float, Mavenlink, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills with a data-driven mindset.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Delivery, Engineering, Sales, and People teams.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies and capacity planning models.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools for resource analytics.
  • Ability to implement and manage resource planning systems or dashboards.
  • Experience using resource planning and project management tools such as Jira.
  • Ability to configure and maintain dashboards for resource visibility and utilisation tracking within SaaS platforms.
  • Familiarity with integrating resource planning tools with other business systems to support end-to-end delivery workflows.
  • Comfortable working with data exports and reporting features from tools like Jira and project management platforms such as Teamwork to support forecasting and decision-making.
