Job Description:

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Occasional travel within the UK.

LOCATION: Site (60% of your working week must be office based)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Join us at Airbus Defence & Space in Stevenage, where we design, build, and deliver world-leading satellites and spacecraft that shape the future of space exploration and global connectivity. As a Financial Project Controller, you’ll play a key role in supporting some of our most exciting and innovative programmes.

In this role, you’ll be the financial heartbeat of our satellite production projects, ensuring accurate reporting, cost control, and insightful analysis that drives successful delivery. Working hand-in-hand with Project Managers, Work Package Managers, and the wider Finance team, you’ll help keep our projects on track and our customers informed, while gaining exposure to cutting-edge space technology and large-scale international programmes.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM:

  • Manage financial performance for satellite production projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting.

  • Partner with Project and Work Package Managers to provide high-quality cost analysis, variance insights, and milestone tracking.

  • Support contract changes by preparing accurate financial inputs and reviewing all relevant contractual matters.

  • Deliver project financial KPIs, resource forecasts, and subcontractor milestone reports to senior stakeholders.

  • Drive process improvements and contribute to innovative ways of working across the Project Control & Finance teams.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Intermediate/Advanced MS Excel literacy with knowledge of SAP

  • Highly numerate and computer literate.

  • Experience from management accounting role within a project based environment.

  • Excellent team working skills with great communication skills – an ability to make finance important to non-finance People.
