About this role

The role is part of the EMEA HR team that span the end-to-end execution of the employee experience for the region, from Talent Acquisition and TA Operations, including onboarding, to Compensation and Benefits design and strategy and Payroll. The HR function also includes Talent Management and Culture, HR Business Partnering and Employee Relations. The EMEA region accounts for +6000 colleagues across 24 countries, in what is the most complicated environment that BlackRock currently operates in. 

 

This position is a key part of BlackRock’s EMEA HR team. You will work closely with the Head of EMEA HR, and the EMEA HR COO and lead for HR Ventures. Your role will involve leading various strategic and operational activities to ensure a stable operating environment for the EMEA HR team. As a part of the HR Ventures team, the role will also involve supporting significant scale and commercially significant BlackRock projects/programmes, where there is a significant HR component 

 

Duties: 

In this role, your responsibilities will include: 

 

  • Plan and drive the transition of HR activities from Continental Europe to HR Platform and Infrastructure through partnership with regional and global teams to deliver a sustainable HR operational model across the region. 

  • Partner with the EMEA HR COO to identify and implement a range of HR strategic requirements for the region, such as ensuring the correct oversight is in place for the UK visa sponsor license. 

  • Partner closely with the Head of EMEA Regulatory HR Initiatives to delivery both operational and regulatory activities for the region, through the Operational Process and Regulatory Initiatives (OPRI) framework. 

  • Lead the co-ordination of the EMEA regulatory pay gap, and disability reporting to ensure the firm continues to meet its legal obligations.  

  • Support the Head of EMEA HR, in partnership with the EMEA HR COO in developing the strategic agenda for HR for the region, which will involve developing the following: 

  • Ongoing update of the EMEA HR Priorities, 

  • Support on key internal and external updates for clients, and leadership groups, 

  • Continue to evolve HR insights and inputs, including developing EMEA HR’s quarterly updates,  

  • Act as Lead PM on large scale HR Ventures projects and will be accountable for the design and delivery of the project plan and ongoing updates throughout the HR organisation and stakeholder organisation (attending and managing Steercos and developing key project updates).   

  • Partner closely with a wide range of HR teams and Corporate Functions in the EMEA region and globally to support EMEA HR Business Management and HR Ventures projects. 

 

Skills: 

To excel in this role, you should have: 

  • Experience in developing and implementing a regional strategy, considering local nuances and challenges while aligning with global objectives. 

  • Stakeholder management with a wide range of senior leaders.  

  • Established track record of employing critical thinking and analytical skills, employing data insights to facilitate impactful advancements. 

  • Strong collaboration skills, partnering and influencing across a matrixed organization. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, tailoring key messages to different audiences. 

  • Outstanding project / programme management experience. 

  • Ability to lead multiple projects concurrently, meeting challenging deadlines. 

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and analysing data. 

 

Experience: 

We are looking for candidates with: 

  • Experience with Workday. 

  • Excellent interpersonal and partnership skills. 

  • Demonstrated ability in analysing market trends and a keen interest in the financial services and/or technology sectors. 

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent, with certifications and coursework in HR preferred. 

  • Experience supporting a fast-paced HR environment. 

  • Ability to inspire trust and openness, with a reputation for personal integrity. 

  • A highly motivated and energizing attitude and leadership that inspires others to perform at their best.
